OUR PASSION
After battling breast cancer and bacterial meningitis and working many years on Wall Street as Vice President HR, I decided in 2007 it was time to retire and focus my talents and abilities on my # 1 passion – designing and creating beautiful textiles for family and friends. I picked up where I left off many years ago and began sewing again. My pieces included wraps, ponchos, shawls, scarves, pillows and curtains. I also became a personal shopper for women in the corporate arena who couldn’t find the time to shop for themselves. In 2009, I turned my passion into a business and began designing under A Saphyre Affair, a company founded by and owned by my daughter, Shannel Roberson, President.
In March 2013, I learned that I was going to become a first-time grandmother. It was during this time I had taken an interest in precious and semi-precious gems. I thought, what better way to compliment a beautiful scarf or wrap than add a stunning piece of jewelry to complete the look. After creating three necklaces in one day, I knew jewelry making was going to take over as my #1 passion. When my granddaughter London was born, G-Ma Jewels was born, too!

Our beads, stones, toggles, and closures are procured from suppliers around the country, not from a local arts & craft store. This ensures not only one-of-a-kind pieces, but quality and creativity that cannot be matched.
